I appreciate that every couple is unique, so each Wedding Chats film is created and centred around who you are and the company you keep.
While it may seem like all my content is off-the-cuff (and honestly, most of it is) my approach to interviewing is quite methodical. My inquisitive personality, empathic nature and attention to detail allows me to adapt and respond to the energy level of each guest.
Rather than trying to squeeze lots of interviews into your film, I take the time to build a connection with each guest. This encourages them to open up, share their stories, choose to be vulnerable, say how they feel and of course, have a few laughs. Some people need reassurance, others don’t. My priority is making sure every person feels comfortable chatting with me and to the camera.
So how does it work?
I approach individuals to be interviewed rather than waiting for them to come to me. Usually, the first unlucky person to make eye contact will be the first person I interview! I find the less context I give them, the more inclined they’ll be to follow me back to the camera. I guess at this stage you’re probably questioning what your guests are thinking, following a little, bald, moustached man without any real reason – but you’ve got to give them credit for getting involved.
With each interview, I try to give you a summary of who the person is, what you mean to them, why they love you and how your relationship has impacted their lives. There’s always a bit of rouge content in there too, but that’s for me to know and you to find out.

Tommy is a qualified journalist with a background in radio and content production, so his interviewing skill is something that has been crafted over the past 10 years.
Originally from Melbourne, Tommy moved to Newcastle in 2020 and just bought his first house with his beautiful partner Maddie.
Tommy loves working out at REVL Training in Charlestown, playing with his doggo Goose (he’s super cute) and watching sport.
You may have seen Tommy around town - he is the MC for the Newcastle Knights in one of their corporate lounges and also hosts trivia on a Wednesday night at The Greenroof.
